For IM’s fortieth birthday, OMG enthusiastically transformed the warehouse at Whipper Snapper in East Perth – Western Australia’s first bourbon-style whiskey distillery – into a sumptuous banquet hall.
Copper stills and whiskey barrel racks provided an industrial contrast to extravagantly-set long tables, lit from above by a plenitude of ebony-hued chandeliers. Rich textural foliage entwined steel supports whilst delicate blooms adorned the dining tables, with added ambient candlelight.
We created further zones within the space, including a custom bar and dance floor with pop-up staging for the live musicians. And by ‘painting the space with light’, through the subtle uplighting of architectural features and XL projections onto exposed brick walls, OMG further highlighted the dramatic contrast between the industrial and the opulent.
