Boobalicious Ball Case Study : Inital Inquiry
The Boobalicious committee contacted Tony to assist them with the production of their annual Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Care WA.
Specifications and requirements
Boobalicious is an annual fundraising event held at Crown Perth every June, inviting 700+ guests the event is held to raise money for Breast Cancer. The event features Adultshop fashion show, live entertainment and a meal.
Logistics, styling, design and recommendations
Having identified that Boobalicious revolves around a fashion show Tony worked with a stylist to create a unique runway and set design and used his industry knowledge to choose the suppliers who are best suited to meet the requirements and specifications of this event.
A detailed CAD of the layout discussed was designed to the exact specification of the room to ensure the infrastructure supported the requirements. The CAD was continually amended as extra information came in from the committee regarding table numbers, entertainers’ and caterers requirements etc. Tony chose and then liaised with the AV company which would satisfy the audio, visual and lighting effects required to enhance the theme whilst always ensuring OHS requirements are met.
1 week to go
The bump in schedule was created following liaison with all suppliers and venue operators. Tony together with the Boobalicious committee, MC and caterer created the call sheet and event run sheet to ensure all involved were working to the same schedule.
Tony oversaw the bump in and installation of all equipment including the stage, set, lights, audio and vision. He was always on hand to ensure the completion of all tasks on time and to a high standard.
The day of the event
On the day of the event all lighting and sound checks were completed with the MC, band, models and entertainers. All aspects of the design were double checked applying the finishing touches to the set to ensure a polished end result. During the event Tony was also the show caller, using the latest technology to communicate with the teams in front of stage, back stage and on the control desk allowing him to direct all elements of the production, ensuring there are no unscheduled breaks or pauses between elements of the show.
Tony has been the Production Manager for Boobalicious for each year it has been held with this year’s event (2013) being the 10th.
